If you saw my last post, you know I am working towards my solo certificate in skydiving. I am officially two jumps away! One more from altitude followed by a hop-and-pop from 3,500 feet. After exiting from 14,500 on all jumps so far, there is something scary about the idea of jumping so low.
After my solo certificate I will work towards my ‘A’ license and all the associated skills.
I also was lucky enough to jump from a twin otter for the first time. They don’t often come to Canada, so it was an amazing opportunity for a new jumper like myself.
Since my last post, I have done three more jumps. I worked on turning, barrel rolls, front-loops and back-loops. I was pretty worried about my ability to do all these skills well, but was reassured that it was more about proving that I can become ‘disoriented’ in the sky and recover my position.
And guess what? I did it and didn’t totally suck! I had one unstable exit, but recovered and carried on.
